What you should know:
1. Dr. Altchek performed both procedures Aug. 13.
2. Mr. Taillon will miss the entire 2020 season as he rehabilitates from the procedures. This is the second time Mr. Taillon underwent Tommy John surgery; his first TJ was in April 2014.
3. Dr. Altchek is an orthopedic surgeon and co-chief emeritus of New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery’s sports medicine and shoulder services.
4. Dr. Altchek also is the New York Mets’ medical director and a consultant for the NBA.
