1. Dr. Altchek “cleaned up” Mr. Vicaíno’s labrum and removed scar tissue from Mr. Vicaíno’s right shoulder joint.
2. Mr. Vicaíno will miss the rest of the 2019 season.
3. Dr. Altchek is an orthopedic surgeon and co-chief emeritus of New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery’s sports medicine and shoulder services.
4. Dr. Altchek also is the New York Mets’ medical director and a consultant for the NBA.
