Dr. David Altchek Performs Elbow Surgery on Oakland A’s Andrew Carignan

David Altchek, MD, successfully performed surgery on Oakland Athletics’ right-handed relief pitcher Andrew Carignan, according to an MLB report.

The procedure entailed reconstructive surgery to the ulnar collateral ligament in Mr. Carignan’s right elbow. While his recovery time is still undetermined, he will miss the remainder of the 2012 season.
