Dr. David Altchek Performs Elbow Surgery for Mets Pitcher Frank Francisco

David Altchek, MD, a shoulder surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery and medical director for the New York Mets, performed elbow surgery on Mets relief pitcher Frank Francisco, according to a Bloomberg report.

Dr. Altchek performed the procedure to remove a bone spur from Mr. Francisco’s right elbow. He is scheduled to return to play for opening day, according to the report.
