Dr. Dan Cooper to perform knee surgery on SF Giants’ Hunter Pence: 5 notes

Dan Cooper, MD, is scheduled to perform knee surgery on San Francisco Giants’ Hunter Pence, according to a SF Gate report.

1. Dr. Cooper will remove the torn tendon behind Mr. Pence’s right knee.

 

2. It will take Mr. Pence approximately eight weeks to recover.

 

3. Dr. Cooper is the head team physician for the Dallas Cowboys, and he is affiliated with Baylor University Medical Center and The Carrell Clinic, both in Dallas.

 

4. He is a past president of the Texas Society of Sports Medicine.

 

5. He is also the inventor and co-developer of the Stryker Single Portal Arthroscopy system.
