Dr. Christopher Ahmad to perform Tommy John Surgery on Yankees’ Sergio Santos

New York Yankees head team physician Christopher Ahmad, MD, will perform Tommy John surgery on right-handed pitcher Sergio Santos’ right elbow, reports Covers.

Mr. Santos was initially placed on the 15-day disabled list last week with right elbow inflammation, after making only two appearances with the club.

 

Dr. Ahmad will perform the surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Mr. Santos’ recovery time is expected to be 12 weeks at most, according to the report.
