Charles L. Saltzman, MD, performed ankle surgery on Utah Jazz shooting guard Alec Burks, according to a report by The Salt Lake Tribune.

1. Mr. Burks had fractured his left fibula.

 

2. Dr. Saltzman is chairman of the department of orthopedics at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where he also serves as the LS Peery Presidential Endowed Professor.

 

3. He is a director of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and past president of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.

 

4. He has completed fellowship training at Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic.
