Dr. Brian Cole Uses an Adolescent Donor for Cartilage Restoration on Professional Wrestler

Brian Cole, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush and the director of the cartilage restoration center at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, recently treated wrestler Travis Paulson’s injured knee with an experimental cartilage restoration treatment, according to an MOR news release.

Dr. Cole used cartilage from an adolescent donor to restore the missing cartilage in Mr. Paulson’s knee. Dr. Cole’s research has found that adolescent tissue is more effective than adult tissue for cartilage restoration.
