The surgery was performed at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where Dr. Cole is section head of the Cartilage Restoration Center at Rush. Mr. Rose tore his ACL during a playoff game in April.
During the procedure, Dr. Cole used a patellar tendon graft and platelet-rich plasma to promote healing. Mr. Rose will spend time recovering from the procedure and is expected to return to play at some point next season.
