He previously served as chief of orthopedic trauma when deployed in Afghanistan and department chief of orthopedic surgery while stationed in Alaska. He earned his medical degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and completed his residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso.
Dr. Matthews has a professional interest in performing arthroscopic procedures and is experienced in trauma care.
