Dr. Chand will also serve as associate professor of surgery at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.
He previously worked for Cleveland Clinic, serving on its staff since 2003. He most recently served as director of surgical endoscopy, director of advanced surgical training and associate program director of the surgical residency program at Cleveland Clinic
Dr. Chand received his MD from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, completed a residency in general surgery as well as an advanced laparoscopic and endoscopic fellowship at Cleveland Clinic.
“Loyola is excited to offer patients a new comprehensive bariatrics program championed by a recognized leader, innovator and clinician,” said Paul C. Kuo, MD, MS, MBA, chair of the department of surgery at Loyola University Medical Center, and director of the Oncology Institute, in the release. “Dr. Chand will also be responsible for the introduction of new minimally invasive surgical techniques at Loyola’s Maywood and Melrose Park campuses.”
