The hearing is on a possible plea agreement. Dr. Galea was indicted by a federal grand jury last October, but did not enter a plea. He allegedly lied to border agents to smuggle the HGH into the country, and he faces similar charges in Canada.
Dr. Galea was scheduled to moderate the North American Platelet-Rich Plasma Symposium in Toronto later this year. However, he was recently relieved of the responsibility for undisclosed reasons. Dr. Galea pled guilty to the charges, and you can read coverage of the updated report here.
