Delaware Children’s Hospital Opens Sports Medicine Center

The Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del., opened a sports medicine facility dedicated to the treatment and rehabilitation of young athletes, according to a Community News report.

The 7,200-square-foot facility includes exercise equipment such as elliptical machines, a climbing wall, 30-yard indoor track lanes and an open floor for sport-specific training. The facility also includes the Trazer 2 and Gamespeed Performance Enhancement Pad, a motion-sensor device to monitor agility and speed.

The center hosts programs on rehabilitation, injury prevention, personal assessment, personal training and sport-specific training.
