Ms. Filling will be tasked with designing and implementing a multidimensional education program to fit AAOS’s mission. One of her immediate goals, she said, will be to create programs that build on the Academy’s established reputation for educational excellence.

“She already has some great ideas about how to make orthopedic education more accessible and more valuable for our members,” said AAOS CEO Karen L. Hackett, FACHE, CAE.

Ms. Filling formerly served as the vice president of education and publications at the College of American Pathologists in Northfield, Ill., where she worked for more than a decade in various positions. She has master’s degree in educational psychology from the University of Chicago, and a bachelor’s degree in sociology, psychology and education from Cornell College in Iowa.
