Companies to Develop Electronic Reader for Implanted Spine Sensor

Stellartech in Sunnyvale, Calif., and OrthoMEMS in Menlo Park, Calif., will co-develop a reader for wireless communication with a miniature implanted sensor in the spine, according to a release from the two companies.

The device will read measurements made by the OrthoChip, an implanted wireless device to measure spinal disc pressures that is also being developed by the two companies.
