Colorado Rural Health Center Awards Funds for HIT Between Physician Practices and Hospitals

The Colorado Rural Health Center and UnitedHealthcare dispersed more than $2 million in funds to strengthen healthcare delivery in rural communities, particularly toward expanding the use of health information technology between hospitals and physician practices, according to a CRHC news release.

This is the fourth round of grant funding, the news release said, and implementing electronic medical records is one of the major components. The grants also support other health initiatives such as construction and remodeling projects as well as staff training.
