Dr. Gowan practices with Hamilton (N.Y.) Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine. He has served as chief of surgery, president and vice president of the Community Memorial Hospital Medical Staff and a member of the hospital board. During his career, Dr. Gowan has been the orthopedic consultant for Colgate University athletic teams.
