Cleveland Clinic Center for Sports Health Names Dr. A.J. Cianflocco Director of Primary Care Sports Medicine

A.J. Cianflocco, MD, has been named the director of primary care sports medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Sports Health, according to a Cleveland Clinic news release.

Dr. Cianflocco has been a physician at Cleveland Clinic since 1987 and has served as interim director of primary care sports medicine since 2009. He is currently the director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program and serves as a team physician for the Cleveland Cavaliers. During his career, Dr. Cianflocco has also been affiliated with the Cleveland Browns, U.S. Figure Skating Championships and John Carroll University athletics.

Dr. Cianflocco is a member of several professional organizations, including American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the Society of NBA Team Physicians. He was also inducted into the Northeast Ohio Italian American Foundation Hall of Fame for Medicine in 2005.
