Chris Summa, MD (The Spine Clinic of Monterey Bay, Soquel, Calif.). Dr. Summa founded The Spine Clinic of Monterey Bay in 2000. He leads a team of medical providers that diagnose and treat spinal conditions. He has a special interest in minimally invasive discectomy, artificial disc replacement and percutaneous spinal decompression.
Dr. Summa has several professional affiliations, including the North American Spine Society, AO Spine, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery.
Dr. Summa earned his medical degree at the University of New Mexico Medical School, where he also completed his orthopedic residency. His additional training includes the combined orthopedic and neurosurgical spine fellowship at the University of Washington/Harborview Medical Center.
