Chinese Women’s Volleyball names Dr. Sherwin Ho team physician — 5 highlights

The Chinese Women’s National Volleyball Team chose Sherwin S.W. Ho, MD, as the team’s head physician and orthopedic surgeon for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, according to NBC Chicago 5.

Here are five highlights:

 

1. Previously, Dr. Ho worked with the U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

 

2. He has served as the U.S. team’s head physician since 2006.

 

3. The Chinese team’s head coach first recruited Dr. Ho to be the team’s official physician in the summer of 2013.

 

4. He also serves as team physician for all varsity sports at Concordia University in River Forest, Ill.

 

5. Dr. Ho earned his medical degree from the University of Hawaii in Honolulu, where he also completed his residency. He underwent his fellowship at the University of Chicago Medicine.
