Charles Mick, MD (Pioneer Spine and Sports, Northampton, Mass.). Dr. Mick is an orthopedic spine surgeon at Pioneer Spine and Sports. He previously served as president of the North American Spine Society and was advisor to the organization’s coding committee. He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Mick has a special interest in minimally invasive spine surgery, adult spine surgery and United States healthcare policy. Dr. Mick has spent time advocating on behalf of spine surgeons in Washington, D.C. He also has a special interest in providing value-based care.
Dr. Mick earned his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He completed a general surgery internship and residency at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center and an orthopedic residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He completed a fellowship in fracture surgery at Felix-Platter Hospital in Basel, Switzerland and a spine fellowship at The Royal Adelaide Hospital in South Australia.
