Carle Foundation Hospital unveils orthopedic & sports medicine facility: 4 highlights

Urbana, Ill.-based Carle Foundation Hospital has opened a new orthopedic and sports medicine building in Champaign, Ill., according to The Daily Illini.

Here’s what you need to know:

 

1. The new orthopedic and sports medicine building was established due to a rising demand for specialized orthopedic care, such as joint replacement.

 

2. The center will offer physical therapy and emergency sports service, along with a free walk-in clinic for University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign student athletes and community members.

 

3. The building, which is 52,000 square feet, has more than 50 orthopedic and sports medicine physicians, physician assistants and physical therapists on staff.

 

4. Outside of medical training, the orthopedic and sports medicine facility will offer sports enhancement training programs overseen by athletic trainers.
