The donation will support research and educational programs, focusing on training for five orthopedic residents and two sports medicine fellows, according to the report. The donation is also earmarked for initiatives such as purchasing an arthroscopy simulator for training, supporting the Buffalo Bills’ Sports Medicine Symposium and hiring a sports medicine clinical research coordinator.
The physician researchers are also hoping to place some of the funds toward their ongoing study of the medical and cost effectiveness of chondroplasty for knee cartilage injuries.
