Here’s what you need to know.
1. Boston’s coach Brad Stevens reported Mr. Hayward dislocated his ankle and fractured his tibia. It was later announced the forward also fractured his left ankle.
2. Mr. Hayward was evaluated Wednesday morning after undergoing MRI and CT exams. He underwent surgery later that eventing at New England Baptist Hospital.
3. Team physicians were able to reset Mr. Hayward’s ankle on the floor to reduce pain and stabilize him. Once he was in the locker room he received X-rays.
4. New England Baptist Hospital ranks among the top 50 hospitals for orthopedics in 2017-18 by U.S. News and World Report.
