Here are four things to know.
1. The Modus V imaging system is a surgical robotic arm designed to improve visual accuracy during surgery and enable less invasive cranial and spine procedures.
2. The system uses technology originally developed for the International Space Station.
3. Bon Secours DePaul also acquired Synaptive’s BrightMatter platform, which uses a specialized MRI scan to map the brain’s white matter tracts and give surgeons a 3D visualization of the brain that may allow for less invasive surgery.
4. Synaptive’s integrated BrightMatter solutions include surgical planning, navigation, visualization and an informatics platform.
