The data stored in the system will help physicians gather data for research studies, generate quality reporting for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and participated in the American Joint Replacement Registry.

The first phase of the technology will be used only for joint replacement and spine procedure. However, the hospital hopes to eventually include information from sports medicine, trauma, extremities care, shoulder surgery and pediatrics.
