Anesthesiologists Urge CMS, ONC to Continue Hardship Exemption Through MU Stage 3

The American Society of Anesthesiologists announced that it has submitted formal comments to the Office of the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, urging the continuation of the hardship exemption for anesthesiologists through stage 3 of the meaningful use program.

In addition, the ASA urged the ONC and CMS to provide additional exemptions to specific meaningful use criteria, including providing clinical summaries to patients and implementing drug to drug and drug to allergy interaction checks.
