Here’s what you need to know:
1. The surgeons will conduct the study at KLSMC and Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif.
2. Both sites’ research will be parallel and the Regenerative Medicine Center will attempt to replicate treatments KLSMC already offers.
3. The researchers hope to prove to the FDA that stem cell procedures are safe and effective.
4. The Malaysian government helped fund the project.
5. The study may take up to six years.
