1. The competition took place online in November 2016.
2. Competitors had to complete a CrossFit workout and two max-effort lifts at an affiliated location in front of a judge, or they needed to record a video to be judged.
3. The competition split competitors up by age and weight. Dr. Steele said the grouping benefited him “because I am a smaller guy and I always tend to be competing against a lot bigger guys.”
4. Dr. Steele likes CrossFit because of the quantitative aspects of the workout.
He told the publication, “That constant evolution and that constant awareness of how you are doing, whether you are falling back a little or you are making improvements, really speaks to athletes, especially to me.”
