Dr. Lee is a leader in researching and performing hand transplants. He is the first plastic surgeon in 13 years to be elected president of ASSH.
Before joining Johns Hopkins, Dr. Lee served as chief of plastic surgery and professor of surgery at orthopedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. During that time, he led a surgical team in performing the first double-hand transplant and the first above-elbow arm transplant.
Dr. Lee earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, he completed a plastic surgery fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and an orthopedic hand fellowship at the Indiana Hand Center in Indianapolis.
