A new survey from the American Osteopathic Association finds that almost all Americans can name one thing that triggers physical pain during the winter and half of them put off talking about it to their physicians until after the holidays.

According to the survey, Americans 45 years and older are most likely to experience pain during the winter. Top triggers include freezing temperatures and shoveling snow. The cold also triggers pre-existing conditions such as arthritis and fibromyalgia. However, two out of five Americans said that they would rather focus on holiday chores and wait until the merriment is over to see a physician.
