American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society Names Dr. Keith L. Wapner as President

Keith L Wapner, MD, has been installed as president of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society, according to a society news release.

Dr. Wapner was installed during the society’s 26th Annual Summer Meeting in National Harbor, Md. Currently, Dr. Wapner serves as a clinical professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania as well as adjunct professor at Drexel College of Medicine, Department of Orthopedic Surgery in Philadelphia.

In his new position, Dr. Wapner will serve on the AOFAS Board of Directors of the Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Outreach & Education Fund, as a member of the AOFAS Finance Committee, and act as the presidential line representative to the AAOS Board of Specialties.

In 2010, Dr. Wapner served as chair of the AOFAS Advanced Foot & Ankle Course. He has also volunteered on the AOFAS Overseas Outreach Project to Vietnam team as well as served on the Industry Relations and Coding Committee. He has also spent time as a reviewer for scientific journals.
