John Steubs, MD, confirmed Minnesota Twins pitching prospect Nick Burdi fully tore his ulnar collateral ligament, the Pioneer Press reports.

1. Dr. Steubs examined Mr. Burdi last week, confirming the pitcher tore his UCL on May 26.

 

2. Mr. Burdi last pitched on May 21. Mr. Burdi was the Twins 2014 second round pick. He will undergo Tommy John Surgery at a later date. 

 

3. Dr. Steubs is an orthopedic surgeon at Bloomington, Minn.-based TRIA Orthopaedic Center.

 

4. Dr. Steubs is the Minnesota Twins’ team physician.
