The Washington Health Policy Fellows program was designed to develop leaders in orthopedic advocacy. The programs allow senior orthopedic residents and fellows-in-training who are interested in healthcare policy to participate in the process at the federal level.
Dr. Froelich is a PGY-5 resident at Southern Illinois University and will be completing a hand fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. He currently serves on the Government Affairs Council for the Illinois State Medical Society and is interest in examining the quality of recent patient counters in rural areas.
Dr. Shah is a PGY-4 resident at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and is considering a hip and knee replacement fellowship. He has a focus on the evolving relationship between the Food and Drug Administration and physicians with regards to medical decision-making.
