Institute attendees discussed clinical practice guidelines, appropriate use criteria, registries and performance measures. AAOS President Joshua J. Jacobs, MD, discussed plans to develop performance measures and the organization will now begin developing four specific orthopedic quality measures over the next four years, according to the report.
The participants recommended expanding EHR standardization efforts in registries and expanding the Patient Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System as initiatives to improve quality in the future.
