AAOS Names Dr. Frederick Azar President

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons has named Frederick M. Azar, MD, president of its board of directors.

Dr. Azar currently serves as the chief of staff of the Germantown, Tenn.-based Campbell Clinic as well as director of the sports medicine fellowship program in the University of Tennessee-Campbell Clinic’s department of orthopedic surgery in Memphis, Tenn. He serves as the team physician for the Memphis Grizzlies and is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America and American Orthopaedic Association. Dr. Azar most recently served as AAOS treasurer.
