AAOS names Dr. David Teuscher new president

David D. Teuscher MD, a Texas orthopedic surgeon, became president of the AAOS Board of Directors today.

Dr. Teauscher is a partner and former president of Beaumont Bone and Joint Institute and a team physician for Lamar University’s NCAA Division I athletic teams. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio and completed an internship and residency at the Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio.

 

Dr. Teuscher also is the past president of the Texas Orthopaedic Association and the Jefferson County Medical Society, and serves on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors. He also served in U.S. army operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

 

“The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons is the premier provider of continuing orthopaedic education programs,” said Dr. Teuscher. Earlier this year, the Academy opened a new state-of-the-art Orthopaedic Learning Center near Chicago. In addition, the Academy hopes “to utilize technology and alternative learning models to enhance global access to the organization’s many educational courses, programs and tools, including those offered at the annual meeting.”
