AAOS Honors Dr. Gary Friedlaender for Leadership

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons honored Gary E. Friedlaender, MD, with the 2014 William W. Tipton Leadership Award.

The award recognizes AAOS members who demonstrate leadership qualities that benefit the orthopedic community. Dr. Friedlaender is an orthopedic oncology surgeon who presided as an orthopedic chair at Yale for 29 years. He is currently the director of orthopedics and director of sarcoma program at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Have Hospital as well as the Wayne O. Southwick Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and professor of pathology at Yale University School of Medicine.
