AAOS CEO Karen L. Hackett Named Chairman of American Society for Association Executives

Karen L. Hackett, CAE, CEO of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, has become the chairman of the American Society for Association Executives, according to an AAOS news release.

Ms. Hackett’s new responsibilities include making appointments to ASAE committees subject to approval by the board. She serves as chief elected officer and chair of the board of directors as well as the executive committee. Additionally, she serves as an ex officio non-voting member of all ASAE committees except the leadership and audit committees.

Ms. Hackett is board-certified in healthcare management and a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. She earned her MBA from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL.
