AAOS Board of Directors Welcomes 7 New Members

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons has named seven new members of its board, according to an AAOS Now report.

The new board members include:
•    Frederick M. Azar, MD, chief of staff at the Campbell Clinic in Memphis, who currently serves as second vice president of AAOS and team physician for the Memphis Grizzlies
•    Andrew N. Pollak, MD, head of the division of orthopedic traumatology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and chief of orthopedics at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, who currently serves as treasurer of AAOS
•    Matthew Dobbs, MD, associate professor of orthopedic surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, who was elected as a member-at-large of the board
•    Annunziato Amendola, MD, chair in sports medicine at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, who was elected to the board as a member-at-large
•    John J. McGraw, MD, a private practice orthopedic surgeon at the Knoxville Orthopaedic Center in Jefferson City, Tenn., who serves as a board of councilors secretary
•    David Templeman, MD, associate professor at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, who serves as a board of specialty societies secretary
•    Kevin J. Bozic, MD, vice chair of the department of orthopedic surgery at the University of California in San Francisco, who currently serves as chair of the council on research and quality
