7,700 California Providers Have Begun EHR Implementation

The California Health Information Partnership and Services Organization has announced significant progress in its first two years, including over 7,700 providers in various stages of EHR implementation and over $65 million in federal funding.

Of the 7,700 providers who began EHR implementation, 2,800 providers have key use capabilities, and 210 providers have fully implemented and demonstrated Stage 1 meaningful use.

CalHIPSO was launched in February 2010 as a non-profit joint venture between California Primary Care Association, the California Medical Association and the California Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems.
