6 sports medicine physicians on the move in January

Here are six sports medicine physicians who recently joined new practices or took on new positions in the past month:

Mayo Clinic Health System-Franciscan Healthcare in La Crosse, Wis., formed a joint venture with Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota to provide athletic services. Alecia Gende, DO, is the clinic’s new medical director.

Dawn Mattern, MD, was named a fellow of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.

Family and sports medicine physician Kyle Judkins, DO, joined Pardee Family and Sports Medicine in Mills River, N.C.

Birmingham, Ala.-based Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center added nonsurgical spine physician Charles Carnel, MD, to its practice.

Clinical neuropsychologist Dr. Elizabeth Pieroth was appointed director of the concussion program at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in Chicago, effective March 1.

Clinical physical therapist Kevin Wilk was named medical consultant for the Washington Redskins, the team announced Jan. 7.
