5 Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Practices Expanding

Jim Phelps, MD, hand surgeon, has joined the Southeastern Sports Medicine team of physicians in Asheville, N.C. Southeastern Sports Medicine is a part of Park Ridge Health, based in Hendersonville, N.C.

Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine plans to break ground on an expansion of its Summit Woods location in Sharonsville, Ohio. The expansion project will add 11,422 square feet to the existing 80,000-square-foot building.

Rockford (Ill.) Orthopedic Associates has opened its new medical facility in Rockford. The facility houses 10 physicians and an estimated 200 employees.

Rothman Institute, based in Philadelphia, intends to open five orthopedics-focused urgent care centers. The centers will be located in Marlton, N.J., Bucks County, Pa., Limerick, Pa., Malvern Pa., and Blue Bell, Pa.

Capital Regional Orthopaedics, based in Albany, N.Y., has opened a new office location in the Malta (N.Y) Med Emergent Care Center. The new office, the practice’s eighth location, will offer emergency and non-emergency orthopedic services.
