3D printer can process PEEK: 3 things to know

Medical 3D printer manufacturer Kumovis won the Munich Business Plan Competition 2018 in Germany, according to Innovation Origins

Here are three things to know:

1. Kumovis developed a 3D printing process based on fused filament fabrication.

2. The printer can process medical-grade high performance plastics such as PEEK.

3. Kumovis uses a temperature-controlled air circuit and special filter contents to create a cleanroom environment within the installation space. This prevents the implants inside from becoming contaminated with outside particles.
