Here are three things to know.

1. Titan Spine’s nanoLOCK is the sole technology with an FDA nano-clearance and CMS new technology category designation for a nanotechnology surface.

2. Titan Spine CMO Paul Slosar, MD, authored “Spine Implant Surface Technology State of the Art: Separating Fact from Fiction,” which reviews differences among spinal implant surface technology types, including those developed through additive manufacturing, subtractive methods, and those made of materials including PEEK, titanium and combination plasma-sprayed materials.

3. The research review demonstrates that the combination of the selected implant material and the nanoscale surface is crucial to the ability to stimulate bone formation. Dr. Slosar concludes that based upon a review of the research, titanium with a nanotextured surface is the best option for direct interaction with cells on a molecular level.
