The following hospital executive moves occurred within the past week, beginning with the most recent.

1. Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare Corporation appointed Britt T. Reynolds president of hospital operations, effective Jan. 2012.

2. Hal Leftwich, CEO of Hancock Medical Center in Bay St. Louis, Miss., left his post to take the top job at Fishermen’s Community Hospital in Marathon, Fla.

3. Richard Grogan was appointed full-time CEO of The Memorial Hospital of Salem County in Salem, N.J.

4. Al Zastrow, CEO of Keokuk (Iowa) Area Hospital, will step down from his role next year.

5. Scott Polenz, CEO of Neillsville, Wis.-based Memorial Medical Center, resigned.

6. Keith Parrott was promoted to the newly created position of executive vice president and COO of Birmingham, Ala.-based Baptist Health System.

7. Physicians Hospital System, a network of physician-owned healthcare facilities in Indiana and North Dakota, appointed Albert W. Pilkington, III, CEO of Doctors Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D.

8. Walter Ettinger, MD, president of UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass., is departing the healthcare organization.

9. Robert Stillwell, CFO of Metropolitan Nashville (Tenn.) Hospital Authority, stepped down from his post.

10. Mark Stensager, president and CEO of Guthrie Healthcare System and co-CEO of Guthrie Health, both based in Sayre, Pa., announced his retirement.

11. Maureen Bryant resigned as president and CEO of Morton Hospital, a Steward Health Care facility in Taunton, Mass.

12. Ralph Gabarro, president and CEO of Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, announced his plans to retire at the end of October.

13. Vance Jackson was appointed interim administrator of Palo Alto County Health System, which is based in Emmetsburg, Iowa.

14. Adel Amir was named interim CEO of Carthage (N.Y.) Area Hospital.

15. Kevin M. McGeachy was appointed executive director of North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System’s Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York in New Hyde Park.

16. Sean Whilden was named vice president and CFO of Houston Healthcare based in Warner Robins, Ga.

17. Lynn LeBouef, CEO of Tomball (Texas) Regional Medical Center, stepped down to take a new position with parent company Community Health Systems as a liaison for legislative and strategic affairs.

18. Joseph A. Stewart was appointed president and CEO of Sierra View District Hospital in Porterville, Calif.

19. Karen S. Hill was appointed COO and CNO of Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Ky.

20. South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley, Ala., announced the passing of CEO Rich McAuliffe after a battle with cancer.

21. Maynard Oliverius, president and CEO of Stormont-Vail HealthCare in Topeka, Kan., will retire, effective June 30, 2012.

22. Larry E. Schrage was appointed interim CEO of Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa.

23. David Putt, who has served as president and CEO of University of Mississippi Medical Center since February, will be transitioned into a liaison role between the university and HMA once a planned affiliation is finalized. In addition, Janet Harris, chief nursing executive officer, will succeed Mr. Putt as head of UMMC.
