153 documented CTE cases; 261 articles in NY Times covering CTE

Breitbart Sports is reporting that they investigated the New York Times archives, using the search term “chronic traumatic encephalopathy” for articles on CTE and found 261 articles, 21 of which were published in 2015.

According to Breitbart, the number of found CTE articles on the Times website is more than four articles for every case of CTE documented in former player’s by brain banks and nearly double the number of total CTE cases identified in a recent study by Joseph Maroon, MD, and colleague, titled “Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy in Contact Sports: A Systematic Review of All Reported Pathological Cases,” which documents 153 cases of CTE.
