12 Statistics on Pain Management Case Revenue by Region

Here are 12 statistics on pain management case revenue and gross charges by region from VMG Health’s Multi-Specialty ASC Intellimarker 2011. The survey included surgery centers from the West, Southwest, Midwest, Southeast and Northeast.

Gross charges per case
Gross charges were highest in the Southwest by a margin of more than $1,200. The gross charges throughout the rest of the country only varied by a range of just over $800. Only the Midwest and Northeast fell below the overall average of $4,103.

Midwest: $3,666         
Southeast: $3,462         
Northeast: $4,107

Net revenue per case
Net revenue per case was also highest in the Southwest by a margin of just over $100. Only the Southwest and Midwest regions were above the overall average of $955. Overall, the average ratio of net revenue to gross charges was 23.3 percent. The highest was in the Southeast at 23.8 percent, and the lowest was in the Northeast at 20.1 percent.
