11 spine procedures with & without coverage through Priority Health of Michigan Medical Policy

Priority Health of Michigan Medical Policy now covers six spine procedures with no prior authorization required, effective Aug. 20.

Here are the six covered procedures:

1. Artificial intervertebral discs

2. Radiofrequency ablation for back pain

3. Kyphoplasty or vertebroplasty

4. Sacroiliac joint fusion

5. Lumbar fusion and lumbar laminectomy

6. Interlaminar stabilization for lumbar spinal stenosis

Here are five procedures not covered:

1. Artificial lumbar discs

2. Automated percutaneous lumbar discectomy

3. Axial lumbar interbody fusion

4. Intradiscal electrothermal therapy

5. Concentrated bone marrow aspirate for spinal surgery
