ChoiceSpine releases additively manufactured titanium alloy implant for cervical cases: 4 notes

ChoiceSpine released the Hawkeye TI, designed to improve cervical corpectomy cases.


Four things to know:

1. The Hawkeye TI device is an additive manufactured titanium alloy implant. The device is designed in a trapezoidal footprint shape and includes a built-in lordic curvature, and it has an osteoconductive microstructure texture to support bone adhesion.

2. The device earned FDA clearance and is the first ChoiceSpine device additively manufactured, but may not be the last. In its press release, ChoiceSpine indicated that this device "is opening the door to new device designs that weren't previously possible."

3. Joe Ordonez, MD, of Norfolk, Va., conducted clinical trials on the device in collaboration with ChoiceSpine.

4. ChoiceSpine offers a surgical technical guide, online training and on-call engineering support for surgeons that use Hawkeye TI. Distributors will receive access to a sales slick that covers all essential information to use the device successfully.
